Mountain Home schools to open back up Friday after 'warning of a possible threat'

UPDATE

After receiving an email that disclosed a "potential act of violence", the Mountain Home School District updated the press on what they are doing to take precautionary measures.

Mountain Home Police Chief Conner said the "warning of a possible threat" was directed toward BennettMountain High School.

The alternative school shares a campus withHacker Middle School and both were canceled as a precautionary measure.

"It's a school [Bennett Mountain High School] that I can tell you outperforms every other alternative school in the state," said superintendent James Gilbert. "To think this is somehow related to a specific incident at Bennett Mountain, I don't think is accurate."

The email was sent through one of the online forms on the district's website and delivered "a warning of a possible threat".

Classes will resume regularly Friday as the Mountain Home Police have found the source of the email and have interviewed that person. The investigation is ongoing. Police say the source was a family member of someone employed the Mountain Home Police Department and a student at one of the schools in the district.

Chief Conner said they have no reason to believe that the warning had anything to do with thebomb threats sent to dozens of schools, universities and other locations across the U.S.. These certain threats were revealed to be a hoax.
